Nadya is a Registered Massage Therapist and business owner with many years of experience in treating the mind, body and soul. Her practice has included amateur athletes, corporate executives, politicians and homemakers to opera singers, weekend warriors, actors, and even the occasional canine.
She is co-founder of Icegreen, (www.icegreen.ca) one of the fastest growing Eco Packaging businesses in Canada. She is also co-founder of Mindfulocity.
Growing up in a family who practiced yoga and meditation long before it was popular, Nadya had these ancient practices ingrained in her at a very young age which she credits with her long-time fascination with the mind-body connection. This fascination inspired a deep desire to further her knowledge through many different forms of alternative therapies, including Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, Yoga, Meditation and Huna.
Over the past number of years she has joined her husband David at the Chopra Center in Carlsbad, California, where she completed their Perfect Health, Journey into Healing, and Seduction of Spirit programs, studying with experts such as Deepak Chopra and davidji. These courses served to fuel her passion for sharing her knowledge of the close relationship between the mind, body, emotions and spirit. In keeping with her passion for learning, Nadya has also completed her Restorative Yoga teacher training at Octopus Garden Centre in Toronto. She has currently completed the practitioner certification in energy medicine through the ancient Hawaiian philosophy of Huna.
Through her own invaluable life experiences with infertility, chronic back pain, stress and anxiety, Nadya has developed a unique perspective on life – she came to realize that everything is a choice. As Eckhard Tolle says, “The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation, but your thoughts about it. Be aware of the thoughts you are thinking.” Nadya’s choice was to stop fighting and trying to control the events in her life, and to start accepting them with gratitude. She came to the realization that although we have no control over the past or the future, we do have a choice in how we live in the present moment; her choice was to live in it with happiness and joy. Because being in the present moment is where life happens.
Inspired by her own journey, daily practices and continued studies of everything life, her passion is to inspire others along their personal paths of discovery and healing. Nadya offers tools to use in daily life to help stay present and to heal your mind and body.
Laugh everyday and love whole-heartedly. Always keep learning and growing, because in today’s rush we all think too much, seek too much, want too much, and forget about the simple joy of just being. Being content. Being carefree. Being joyful. Being at peace.
