Jerri Johns
Jerri spent the last 30 years in the hospitality industry, where she met and interacted with many people. She began to have an awareness of wanting change, and was searching for many years, but never knew quite what to do, or how to make a shift happen. She was raised with the ideals that if the body were given the right tools, it could heal itself, and spent over 3 decades researching various health issues and natural alternatives available. She has always had a strong connection to animals, dogs especially, and her own have been among her greatest teachers.
A two-time Boston marathon runner, Jerri trained hard for 15 years and the constant train/race cycle began to take a toll on her emotionally. It took her almost two years to leave the racing word behind and begin to focus on her physical and emotional health. It was then that yoga found her, most unexpectedly. Jerri found that yoga grounded her, opened her heart and strengthened her spirit. A meditation practice came soon after, and things began to happen; deep shifts physically, emotionally and spiritually.
An organic/green consumer for many years, along with a dedication to health and our planet, led her to the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in 2013 where she graduated as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist. Here she came to learn that there was a lot more to healthy eating than just buying organic food...
One year later she was faced with the toughest challenge of her life that shifted her perspective even further. It was through deep emotional and spiritual work that she reinvented herself and found that her love and passion for yoga, especially restorative yoga, had grown to the point that she couldn't ignore it any more. She immersed herself in the peaceful world of restorative yoga and completed her teacher training at Octopus Garden in Toronto.
Jerri is an advocate, a passionate activist, and a lover of all living things. If we live in harmony with our bodies, we live in harmony with Mother Earth. Her goal is to educate, support and empower those she works with, inspiring them to reach their best health. Grateful for all life’s lessons and accomplishments, Jerri remains a student of life.
There's only one things that's better than getting what you want; it's to know that you can be happy whether you get it or not. ~Adyashanti
